Strong, deep and powerfull wine, with good structure and interesting oak/herb aromas.

Chianti Classico Tenuta San Alfonso, Rocca delle Machie

Most silky chianti, that i ever tryed. Round angles, medium body, velvet and pretty finish. Very good.

Don't write a long time. Decide to take a break. Actually, I don't want write about popular and low quallity wines. So, when I found something interesting, I will write about it for sure.

Last month I was on two tasting evenings:
1) Hugel, Alsace, France.
 Wines: Gentil (blend, based on Sylvaner), Sylvaner, Muscat, Riesling, Gewurz, and Gewurz from old vine.
Actually, wines was simple and I my expectations were not met . Maybe Gentil has best value (price/quallity)

2) Wines frim Bernar Magrez from France and Spain.
Not bad, not good. Saint-Emillion was rought, Spain (Toro) ripe and little unbalanced, Provence washy and obscure.
There was delicios Sauvignon Blanc from Languedoc-Roussilion. Cheapest wine on taste. Crispy, fresh, with hints of "France".
Value (price/quallity) is amazing. This is first time when I tryed so good wine for 10$ only.
In USA and Europe average retail price will be like 4$ or 5$.

This wine I tasted after slow and thoroughly decantation.
Color is deep. More ruby, than red. Rich flavors of black currant, tobacco, pepper and violet. Violet is amazing. In mouth it is almost gourgeous. Tannins are strong, but round and soft. Balance very good. Honest, straighforvard wine.
Very, very good, but not WOW. Vintage 2001 pointed by RB in 88. Not the best wine from this legendary producer. 

Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2002

Premier Gran Cru of Bourdeaux. Clairet. Classic.
I've been tasting this wine w/o decanting. Deep purple/ruby color. Nose is intense in flavors of black currant, pepper and oak. Wine still is very tanic. Acidity is good. Perfect balance. Tannins sometimes looks rought. High concentrate, muscle wine have a potential.
Quality is very good, but not WOW. 2002 by RP vintage chart pointed by 88.

Roda I 2006, Bodega Roda, Rioja, Spain
Pure organically Tempranillo. Noble deep ruby color. Strong cherry, black fruits, oak and spices. Mouth is amazing. Rich, concentrate. Perfect balance acidity/tannins, wine is round and colorfull. Long velvet finish in the edges of the tongue.

Recioto di Soave Suavia 2007, Veneto, Italy
This is my first time I am tasting whyte Recioto from Soave.
Noble gold/honney color. Flavors of honney, nuts, flovers, whyte overripe fruits. All aromas in good balance. In mouth it is like nectar. Gourgeous balance, perfecy acidity. Long nuty finish.
Total: Very good, almost fantastic.
